About This Novel

Wang Wei, also known as Mojie, was a poet and painter of the Tang Dynasty. Wang Wei not only studied Zen and learned Taoism, he was also proficient in poetry, calligraphy, painting, music, etc. The name of the poem flourished in the Kaiyuan and Tianbao years, especially in five words. Most of his poems praise landscapes and pastoral areas. Together with Meng Haoran, he is known as "Wang Meng" and is known as the "Poetry Buddha". His calligraphy and painting were so exquisite that later generations regarded him as the "ancestor of Nanzong landscape painting". Wang Wei is a representative of pastoral landscape poetry in the prosperous Tang Dynasty. His poems are "elegant in words, new and comfortable in meaning, pearls in the spring, and painted on the wall. Every word and every sentence is out of the ordinary." He has been praised by all generations and has had a profound influence on future generations. This book is condensed on the basis of the "Collection and Annotations of Wang Wei" by researcher Chen Tiemin, an expert on Wang Wei. The annotations are detailed and clear, making it a good popular reading book.
