About This Novel
"That Year, That Place, Those People" is a collection of prose essays. The whole book is divided into five parts: "Those Indelible Memories", "Those People Who Left", "Those Outpouring Emotions", "Those Shining Places", "Those Years Turning Like Tops" and a postscript. The author uses plain writing techniques to unpretentiously record his tired and happy feelings during his more than 30 years as a judge, as well as his sincerity and affection for his relatives, friends, and even all things in the world. The author outlines the hard work of the people at the bottom of the family and the humility and gentleness they give to the years from the relatives, friends or parties around him, thereby calling on people to advocate truth, goodness and beauty, and to be "plain and uncarved"; from the thoughts of those who have passed away, he reflects the truth that "health is king, and living well is responsibility and responsibility"; from describing the beauty of the mountains and rivers of the motherland, he expresses the beautiful voice of "love China, love life".
