Only the Leftover Rice is Cooked Slowly (teda Santo Fire Haiku 300)
by (japanese) Farming Shantouhuo
About This Novel
This book is a selected collection of haiku written by Taneda Yamato, the representative poet of Japanese free-temper haiku. His haiku are not bound by the traditional five-seven-five-meter rhythm, just as his life is not bound by the secular world and moves freely. Shantou Huo's haiku are about endless green mountains, autumn rain, birds and flowers. The complex natural images reflect his understanding of Zen and Taoism, and are also about the impulses of life - loneliness and nostalgia. This book selects 300 haiku from Shantou Huo's representative work "The Tower of Grass" and many haiku collections, supplemented by the original Japanese text and annotations to aid appreciation.
