About This Novel

Turkish poet Nazim Hikmet is considered the founder of modern Turkish poetry. Between 1929 and 1936, he published nine collections of poetry, introduced spoken language and free verse, and innovated Turkish poetry tradition; he won the World Peace Prize in 1950. While living abroad, the poet wrote many poems with the theme of maintaining peace, and more of his works expressed his love for the motherland and his nostalgia for his hometown. After Hikmet's death, his reputation increased day by day, and his poems are rare artistic treasures in the history of Turkish literature.
