"The Iliad" is a long narrative poem compiled by the blind ancient Greek poet Homer based on oral epics and short songs. It is an important ancient Greek literary work and one of the classics of Western literature. It is called "Homer's epic" together with another work of Homer, "The Odyssey". "The Iliad" is a masterpiece describing ancient wars. It narrates a 10-year war between the ancient Greeks and the Trojans; it praises the strength, might, wit and bravery of the ancient heroes; it eulogizes their great achievements and the spirit of heroism and collectivism in fighting against alien races.
