Aesthetic Evolution of Qing Ci
by Han Baojiang
About This Novel
The manuscript clarifies the evolution of the aesthetic orientation of Ci poetry from the early to the mid-Qing Dynasty, which has always been unclear. From both internal and external aspects, we conducted an in-depth and detailed investigation of the shift in aesthetic opinions from the Western Zhejiang Ci School to the Changzhou Ci School in the Qing Dynasty: First, we made a relatively comprehensive and in-depth discussion of the literary thoughts and aesthetic tastes of Zhu Yizun, Li E and Zhang Huiyan in terms of family origin, growing environment, circle of friends, academic experience, Ci works, theoretical propositions of Ci, and influence on the development of Ci in the Qing Dynasty. Then he made a detailed analysis of the social environment, political orientation, literati mentality, academic trends, literary criticism trends and other factors at that time, and pointed out the impact of these objective conditions on literary thought and the aesthetic style of the Ci world.
