This book is the eighteenth volume of the Harvard Classics Series - "Modern British Drama". The "modern" referred to here refers to the era division method of the era in which the author of this book lived. Now called "classicism". "The Stain on the Crest" is a famous drama work by the British poet Robert Browning. It was written in 1842 and was adapted for the stage the following year.
