Among Ba Jin's many novels, "The Torrent Trilogy", which consists of three novels: "Home", "Spring" and "Autumn", is the most accomplished and influential work. "The Torrent Trilogy" is set in the Chengdu area of Sichuan in the early 1920s after the May 4th Movement. It describes the history of the collapse of a large feudal family (the Gao family) in the new revolutionary period. The work unfolds the entire family life of a feudal bureaucrat and ruthlessly exposes the decadence of the feudal landlord class and the hypocrisy and cruelty of feudal ethics. "Selected Works of Ba Jin (Volume 3)" is "Autumn" in "The Torrent Trilogy".
