Occasionally Sending Leisurely Feelings
by Li Yu
About This Novel
Since ancient times, everyone has longed for a leisurely and elegant life: watching snow, admiring flowers, drinking tea... But few people truly understand the essence of "life aesthetics". The true meaning of the beauty of life lies in careful experience, careful observation, thinking and innovation, and uncompromising quality, rather than just sensual enjoyment. "Occasional Letters of Leisure" is just such a wonderful book about the art of life. It can think about the little things in life that ordinary people disdain, and express the opinions that ordinary people want to say but cannot. From song and song creation, drama performances, voice and appearance to all aspects of literary and artistic life such as utensils and antiques, architecture, planting, diet and health care, every word is a summary of Li Yu's lifelong efforts. Li Yu, courtesy name Lihong and nickname Liweng, was a native of Jinhua, Zhejiang. A famous dramatist and writer in the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty, he is known as the "ancestor of Chinese drama theory". His representative works include: the opera "Ten Songs of Li Weng", the novels "Rou Fu Tuan", "Liancheng Bi", "The Twelfth Floor", "He Jin Huiwen Biography", the anthology "The Story of Li Weng's Family", etc.

worth a look
Li Yu is very talented
Second reading. I feel that drama is Li Yu's specialty. Although it is not a very rigorous system, it still makes sense. Halfway through the book, I made a special trip to read "Pipa Ji" and paid special attention to each song card while reading. Recently, I have also been reading some books from my hometown. I have been watching Wu Opera in the countryside since I was a child, and I have paid special attention to some of the local accents. I think the part about flowers and plants at the back is still a very good article and very interesting to read. It feels like the home part has a bit of a chatty, clever and dirty feel. It's worth reading again later when you have free time.
The part about lyrics and music mentioned above is still interesting. Is the author doing the latter part purely to sell the article to gain money or to gain fame? Basically no special insights. Last year I tried to read the author's The Twelfth Floor, but it was really difficult to read. The impression I had was that it was all about old-fashioned talents and beauties, and the words and sentences were not as good as those of Yuan opera masters. Personally, I feel that Li Yu can just sell his writings among the people, but it is difficult for him to become a public figure.
