Book of Disquiet
About This Novel
"The Book of Disquiet", also translated as "The Record of Panic", is a collection of late essays by the famous Portuguese writer Fernando Pessoa, and it is also an unfinished work. Many of the chapters in it are not like completed chapters, and there are even gaps waiting to be filled, but when added together, they can completely depict a person's soul. This is the first time that the complete Chinese translation of "The Book of Disquiet" has been released. For readers who like Pessoa, this book "The Book of Disquiet" is his long-lost classic in the Chinese market, and will open another door for us to glimpse Pessoa's vast philosophical universe.

Pessoa's divided Lisbon ghost is passive to the end, loving himself and talking to himself, analyzing human nature with a thorough and convincing view. Also, I read it so thoroughly that it is so decadent that it makes people feel uncomfortable (I really want to shake the protagonist's shoulders to cheer him up). After reading it, I was really infected with the dull and tired feeling, and felt like I was lacking oxygen. When I read his poems and letters again, I felt relieved that they actually had a different style of writing and a different atmosphere. I heard that there are a total of seventy-two heteronyms in Pessoa, which is very interesting.
It is as if a confused young man is muttering to himself in the dark abyss, asking questions that humans have to face... About the living conditions, about the desire to live elsewhere... The restless soul is confusing and shining in the night.
I was reading quietly again, and I seemed to see my own shadow in a certain chapter.
on the edge of the crowd
This is how I feel, and I have to take the initiative to break away from the people I depend on, so that I can grow.
Every germ of feeling, even the most pleasant, must disturb the mysterious inner life of the same feeling. Small cares and big worries distract us from the peace of mind that we all long for, whether we know it or not.
Feeling uneasy,
An uneasy sign!
