This story, its writing style and character creation are more like a science fiction fable or science fiction fairy tale, with a strong sense of machinery and puppetry. The structure of the story is very rough, and the transitions between each paragraph of the story are as stiff as rusty machine gears. The plot is also half-assed, but fortunately the plot twist in the last paragraph is pretty good.
