Known as the black slave version of "The Shawshank Redemption", it shows the survival state of life in extreme environments. Solomon Northup, an African-American freedman living in New York State in the United States in the 19th century, enjoyed his time of freedom. However, black slave traders took advantage of his vision of getting rich through hard work and used deception to kidnap him and make him lose his status as a freedman.

As long as there is breath left, there is infinite hope
I finished reading this book at around eleven o'clock last night. He has a more thorough understanding of the slavery system, an extreme and ruthless slave owner, and a desperate and numb slave. At the moment when the protagonist is rescued, there is no so-called relief in his heart, but only deep worry, worry about Patsy, Emily, and those who are stuck in the quagmire and cannot get out. But that era has passed and no longer exists. I only hope that in the future everyone in the world will advocate equality, pursue harmony, and be filled with beauty everywhere, that's all!
He is Platt, and he is Solomon!
Illuminate the wisdom of life and crack the code of happiness.
No doubt the author is lucky
For people of that era, perhaps death was the best relief.
Hahahahahaha
Hahahahahaha
Someone else might not be able to endure it for that long, but having his children and wife as his spiritual support is his hope for survival! This is also some of the dark sides of the slave system
I like this kind of realistic style book very much. The plain descriptions and smooth words convey deep feelings. I can empathize with the author's pain and happiness, despair and hope. I like movies, but I like books even more.
I had noticed this book occasionally and had some impressions in my mind. I started reading this book today and will talk about my feelings when I finish it. I hope I won't be disappointed.
