Chongyang County is surrounded by mountains and is a low mountain and hilly area. A Junshui River flows from southwest to northeast, gathering thousands of streams and ravines, running through the city, dividing the entire Chongyang into north and south banks. The Junshui River originates from Huanglong Mountain at the northern foot of Mufu Mountain in Tongcheng at the junction of the three provinces of Hunan, Hubei and Jiangxi. It has the same source as Mi River and Xiushui River.
