Yao Min'ai's work has an extensive search for anecdotes and anecdotes about secret societies, and the materials are so rich that they can be read directly as party history materials. Among them, the most vivid descriptions are of the lower class characters and their lives, the so-called "Seven Reds and Eight Blacks": "Red" refers to bandits who do not form a gang; "Black" refers to thieves of various sects; and "Jianghu" refers specifically to street beggars and wandering entertainers such as Meteor Water Bowl who walk on the docks in February and August, also known as "Jianghu Group". They constitute a unique small sub-society in the sub-society "Jianghu". Their lives are full of mystery, brutality, deceit, and often full of vigor.
