White Shadow Zen Trace
by Li Zejiayan
About This Novel
A white cat who was abused by human children spent a hundred years practicing hard in the mountains and eventually transformed into a human. He went down the mountain with the fire of revenge, but met the old monk who was guarding the ruined temple. "The hatred in your eyes is just a handful of unmelted snow." The old monk handed over a bowl of hot porridge. The young man smashed the porridge bowl and stabbed the old monk in the heart with his sharp claws-- But he was blown away by the golden light flowing out of his body. After that, the young man was trapped in the ruined temple and listened to the old monk chanting sutras every day. He gradually discovered the old monk's aging, weakness, and even fear of death. When the villagers broke into the temple and wanted to burn the cat demon to death, the old monk blocked the door with his life. The young man carried the ashes of the old monk and stepped into the mountains, with noisy human fireworks behind him. Under the moonlight, a white cat looked back at the world of mortals on the top of the mountain, with a string of faded Buddhist beads wrapped around its neck.
