About This Novel
A strange "silent catastrophe" swept the world. All electronic devices malfunctioned, and at the same time, a mysterious lament called "mourning" sounded in human brains. 90% Of people were unable to bear the amount of information and their brains were overloaded, becoming "griefers" with dementia. The world fell into chaos, but the disaster also activated the potential of some survivors. The story revolves around two survival routes: one is the "data ascension" faction represented by programmer Lin Chuan, who advocates uploading consciousness to the abnormal network "Spiritual Network" that appeared after the disaster, and avoids the dangers of the physical world with digital immortality; the other is the "flesh and blood" faction represented by biologist Su Xi, who is committed to studying the evolutionary information contained in "mourning", guiding humans to controllable genetic awakening, and realizing the sublimation of life itself.
