The people there say that only the word "egg" can express their fate on the water as thin as an eggshell. Like countless ancestors, Omu was naturally born in a house called a "thatched cottage" built on the seaside. "Mao Liao" is somewhat like the stilted buildings in western Hunan today, made of wood, cane poles and cane bark. No one is sure when Omu was born. That day, a rare typhoon ravaged this fishing village called Sha Tin all night long.
