Selected Novels of Chekhov·father Collection

About This Novel
Chekhov is a world-class master of short stories in Russia and the last critical realist art master in Russia in the late 19th century. Together with the French writer Maupassant and the American writer O. Henry, he is known as one of the "three major short story writers in the world". This collection collects 12 short stories. Most of them write about the various aspects of intellectuals. The story is comical to read, but it profoundly exposes all kinds of vulgarity. "Father" is about an old man who is obsessed with saving face, which is both ridiculous and sad. The person in "Excerpts from the Notes of a Grumpy Man" has a weak character, and whenever something happens, he shrinks into his empty and boring shell.
