About This Novel

This book contains three coherent novellas: "Fog", "Rain" and "Electricity". The three novels originally had separate volumes. When they were published together in 1936, they were collectively titled "A Trilogy of Love". The trilogy takes the love entanglements of intellectual youths such as Zhou Rushui, Wu Renmin, and Li Peizhu as the lead, focusing on their ideological, character, and psychological states in their struggles against reality. The author Ba Jin regards it as one of his favorite works.
