About This Novel
This is the story of two lonely, scrawny, rather old men who meet on a dying planet. One of them is the science fiction novelist Trout, who is unknown and thinks his life is over. The person he meets is car agent Dwayne, who has a successful career but is on the verge of a mental breakdown. After the two met, one became famous and the other went crazy. And all this is due to a theory in a science fiction novel. Its core idea is as follows: everyone on the earth is a robot, and only you have free will.

Quite subjective
It satirizes society in an era of dehumanization, but there is still a glimmer of hope. Thoughts are human and we are healthy
To the only living creature in the world with free consciousness
I love this theme, about everyone being a robot. Doing fixed things and being controlled by the outside world is exactly what a robot is. The author's language is humorous, sometimes vulgar, and there are many interesting plots. Underneath the fun plot are hidden social problems. It is a satire on the United States that has to be done by the Americans themselves. The author actually went into battle later, which really surprised me. At first, I thought it was just a simple break of the fourth wall, but I didn't expect to go directly into battle and start a conversation. Overall it's fun.
