About This Novel
Due to the great reputation of "The Palace of Eternal Life", later scholars' research on Hong Sheng focused on "The Palace of Eternal Life". Most of the discussions on Hong Sheng's poetry are only scattered in the texts studied on Hong Sheng and "The Palace of Eternal Life". This is the first time that a systematic treatise on Hong Sheng's poetry has been published. The first part of this article places Hong Sheng in the cultural context of the early Qing Dynasty, and explores the origin and flow of his poetic concepts that influenced Hong Sheng's life direction and poetic concepts based on his family background, regional cultural field, teachers and literary circles. The second part focuses on the theme orientation, aesthetic form, and artistic style of Hong Sheng's poetry, and conducts a special analysis of Hong Sheng's love poems, farewell poems, sentimental poems, reclusive poems, and landscape poems based on his life.
