About This Novel
It is the representative work of Danish female writer Tufan Dietlefsen and was made into a movie. The story is set in a back-row apartment in the Westbridge district of Copenhagen where the protagonist Esther lives. It tells the story of Esther, who lives in loneliness and darkness, longing to be loved but not knowing how to love, trying to get rid of everything this street has brought to her: loneliness, coldness, poverty and exclusion. But after she was crushed by the happiness she longed for, she returned to the streets of her childhood, palely healing in memories and familiarity.
