"The First Man" is an unfinished novel by Camus during his lifetime. It mainly tells the story of Jacques, a French Algerian, from childhood to adulthood. This book is Camus's spiritual autobiography, which the author himself calls "my mature novel". In this book, he regarded himself as the "first person" in his family to step out of the primitive state and move toward civilization. "Exile and the Kingdom of Independence" is a short story, including six short stories such as "The Unfaithful Woman", "The Rebel" and "Silent Rage". Its themes are all about the loneliness of living in this world as an emotional and rational person.
