My Roots Mine Brothers
About This Novel
There were my brothers, a group of workers from the Roots Iron Mine. I stood in front of the office building of the iron mine again to pay tribute to them and understand the life in the mine. It was almost dusk that day, the light was gray and the place was empty. Roots Iron Mine is about 110 kilometers away from Kunming and is located in Lufeng County, Yunnan. The temperature is slightly higher. The enthusiasm accumulated in the air reveals the tension of having nowhere to go. There is no wind, the surrounding fields are silent, the hot air is suspended, and time stops. Several rows of low gray buildings and old houses with red brick walls built fifty years ago lay silently in the dusk. After the sun sets in the distant mountains, the remaining light is almost gone, and the mysterious call before the turn of day and night vibrates. Two dogs, one with yellow hair and one with black hair, were sleeping under the cypress tree by the roadside. The yellow-haired dog was frightened, its ears stood up, and it stood up and ran away from the deserted path. The thin black-haired dog jumped away, rushed into the falling night, and disappeared.
