About This Novel
"The Clam Move" continues the author's exaggerated, emotional, mysterious and exaggerated description of the sea in "The Enchanted Sea". The difference is that this novel no longer explores the exciting topics of the 1980s, but turns to a more open space world: clams, sea cats, sea diamonds and old clams, old clams, the granddaughter who is studying in college, and the son on an ocean liner in the background. The contradiction between modernization and primitive life, nature and the process of industrialization is still the main meaning expressed by the author, but the situation of Old Toad in this changed world is more contradictory and complex. His confusion and incomprehension, impulse and stubbornness are a kind of sad force that cannot be framed.
