Travelers Have Borders
About This Novel
After thinking hard for a long time, I finally have some opportunities to sit down and calmly share with you my trip to support education in Xinjiang. The story is very slow and takes a long time. Listen to me share with you the story that belongs to me, belongs to you, and belongs to thousands of people who have helped Xinjiang. From the moment I closed the dormitory door on March 18, 2019, my heart had already traveled to Xinjiang, thousands of miles away. When I returned to Lanzhou in the early morning of June 26, 2019, I got off the train and realized that my teaching mission was over. In a short period of time, I got to know teachers with different personalities, students with different faces, and people dressed in different styles. I changed my identity several times: teacher, student, employee, subordinate. After going around in circles, I returned to Lanzhou and became a student again. I still remember sitting in the playground alone in the early morning on days when I didn't have to go to school early in the morning to watch the huge planes flying overhead. I still remember the night with a few stars when I was accepted by the students for the first time. I also remember my first home visit, my first parent-teacher meeting, my first communication with parents, and of course my first class. I even remember sitting in the night market drinking beer and eating barbecue in my free time. When I looked up, I saw a few stars in the sky through the neon lights of the city. To this day, I still meet my former self at night. I dream about riding my colleague's motorcycle through the countryside to pick apricots, and about braving the cold wind early in the morning to go to the Grand Bazaar to feel the excitement...
