Use cat as pen and ink as paper
--Talk about the comic book adaptation of the cat version of "Partner" Changing the hard-core detective short story "Partner" into a comic strip with an anthropomorphic version of cats is more like a "secondary creative experiment" with love for me. The charm of the original work lies in its solid logical line and delicate depiction of legal principles and human feelings. Especially the interaction between the pair Wang Ruixuan and Zhong Xiaoxiao, from the tacit cooperation in the interrogation room, to the arguments in the court, to the sigh of "the law is selfless, but also has a soft light" when the case came to an end. Every plot has its own tension. I didn't want to make a simple reproduction, so I thought of using the ingenious idea of cat personification to wrap the grim story in a cute coat - Let Wang Ruixuan become a sharp and capable black cat detective, let Zhong Xiaoxiao become a smart and intelligent calico cat partner, an orange cat expert sets up a magnifying glass to identify the authenticity of blue and white cats, and the embrace of yellow cat Aunt Zhang and white cat girl is even more tender. This kind of adaptation is not to eliminate the depth of the original work, but to use a more friendly way to make more people willing to enter this story about justice and warmth. The 3D Chinese style ink painting style is another "little thought" I added to this experiment. I always want to try to blend modern detective scenes into the elegant artistic conception of Chinese ink painting. The ink-stained streets, the freehand Mercedes-Benz, and the courtroom with interlaced light and shadow. With the blessing of 3D technology, it not only has the charm of traditional aesthetics, but also has a bit more three-dimensional vividness. When drawing each storyboard, I kept thinking about how to balance the agility of the cute cat with the elegance of ink, how to convey the aura of Wang Ruixuan and Zhong Xiaoxiao's partnership through the picture, and how to make the dialogue and pictures accurately echo the core of the original work. From finalizing the cat characters of Wang Ruixuan and Zhong Xiaoxiao, to polishing every frame of storyboard, from adjusting the character shape to figuring out the details of the painting style, this process is full of trivial matters, but it also contains a lot of fun. I am very grateful to be able to reunite with the story of "Partner" and the pair Wang Ruixuan and Zhong Xiaoxiao in this way. I am also grateful to every reader who is willing to stop and read. This is not a stunning creation, it is just a gentle dialogue between a lover and a good work in the way he likes. Below ↓ are some pictures that I have drawn before that I think are pretty good. Medium and long story telling session
This book follows the warm-hearted line of Brother Pingtou, and the rule of law is nothing more than human kindness. The heroine has a case to investigate, and when she encounters someone who needs help, she is nowhere to be found. This book is composed of short stories about solving crimes, and the connection between them is the heroine. The book is good, it feels like reading a big dish in a story telling!
