About This Novel
The novel tells the story of Huang Liming, a high school graduate in the 1960s and 1970s. She originally had excellent academic performance, but unexpectedly failed the college entrance examination. After returning to her hometown, she continued to study culturally while working in the countryside, carried out literacy work, and assisted village cadres in promoting the party's policies. During this period, she also experienced love entanglements and grew up through training. The novel shows us the youth struggle history of the protagonist Huang Liming, and also shows her love of reading, learning and perseverance.
