Known as the "Three Musketeers of British Literature", Martin Amis, Ian McEwan and Julian Barnes all have profound urban cultural backgrounds and focus on contemporary London. Therefore, their works profoundly display the inherent contradictions and dilemmas of contemporary Western urban culture from multiple aspects, pointing out the spiritual disaster in Western urban culture caused by the overflow of instrumental rationality.
