Its team members wander in the shadows of the city all year round, specializing in solving mysterious cases, sheltering evil spirits, and rescuing ordinary people who are infested by ghosts. The protagonist, young Lin Ye, joins the Nancheng Inspection Team and forms a field team with team leader Chen Lin and folklore researcher Su Wan. The story unfolds in the form of unit cases: successively solving folk mysteries such as a century-old witchcraft in an ancient house to kidnap people, an abandoned hospital being haunted in the middle of the night, and cursed artifacts in an ancient town. The story is based on Chinese folk customs and supernatural powers, without upgrading to become immortals. It relies on special silver blades, spells, ancient folklore knowledge, and psychic instruments to solve strange mysteries. While the team is dealing with sudden supernatural dangers in various places, they are slowly digging into the dusty old secrets of the Inspection Office and the foreshadowing of large-scale disasters left in the past, uncovering the truth of the strange stories that have been covered up in the city for thousands of years, and silently protecting ordinary people from evil things.
