The period from 1949 to 1958 was a period of great changes in the situation between China and the Far East. It was also a period when the Kuomintang authorities, after their resignation, established a so-called alliance with the United States in a different capacity than before. The relations between Taiwan and the United States established during this period continue to this day. At present, the United States is still an important ally of Taiwan and an obstacle to China's solution to the Taiwan issue. To correctly understand and judge the current relationship between Taiwan and the United States, we must examine its history, especially the history of the foundation and formation period of this alliance. In the form of a special topic, this book discusses the differences, development and final resolution of major issues between the Taiwan authorities and the United States from 1949 to 1958. It discusses how the two established an unstable "alliance" relationship, which had an impact on the subsequent situation in the Far East.
