Nut and His Little Yellow Chicken
About This Novel
Nuts, a 6-year-old urban boy, was "thrown" by his parents to his grandmother's house in the countryside. Within half a year, he met Popcorn, a hen hatching eggs, and witnessed the first little yellow chicken hatch out of its shell. Since then, there has been a furry little friend in the world of nuts. He chased after a rooster, was bitten by a big white goose, and almost killed a little yellow chicken by mistake; he avenged the big red rooster that was bitten to death by a weasel, and also fought hard to recapture the little yellow chicken from his grandfather's hands. The most thrilling thing was that when the eagle descended from the sky, the hen named "Popcorn" pounced on it without hesitation... In half a year, Nuo Nuo learned to raise silkworms, ate cucumbers grown by her grandma, and understood for the first time: life is born and then leaves; there is bravery and helplessness. This is a rural memory about companionship, loss and growth.
