About This Novel

"Hai Ming Weird Stories" is the first collection of science fiction short stories by Hai Ming, winner of the Hugo Award, the world's highest science fiction award. It includes the 2023 Hugo Award for Best Short Novelette "The Painter of Time and Space", seven well-known works, and two previously unpublished high-quality new works "May Time Stay Here" and "Spring Outside the Tulou". Hai Ming's works are strange, imaginative, and yet very reasonable. After reading them, I feel like I'm suddenly enlightened. He is good at finding puzzles from real history and giving unique interpretations to make people believe in the truth. Legends are strange, and science is strange. Although strange, they are not erratic, because Haiming's creations are rooted in history and have the most vivid connection with our past, present and future. "Dragon Skeleton": The father of Chinese airships encountered a falling dragon incident in Jiaozhou Bay. What kind of creature is a dragon? What is the reason why it can fly into the sky and spit fire? If you understand these, you will not be far from building a new type of airship. "The Wrath of the River": During the Anti-Japanese War, a down-and-out geographer returned to China to study the new volcanic theory, but accidentally discovered the huge secret hidden in Orange Island. He will use this secret to protect Changsha City behind him. "The Far North": The super project secretly researched by the Soviet Union will completely change the climate of the Arctic Circle. What kind of bitterness, blood and tears are behind this plan being stranded?
