Lantau Wind Has Not Stopped
About This Novel
The hot wind in late summer stirred up the broken shadows of the camphor trees, and I stepped into the gate of Lantau Middle School within 0.5 Minutes. Others define me arbitrarily based on my family background, but no one sees me sitting at my desk under the lights and running on the court day and night. From the unfamiliarity and embarrassment when we first met, to the time of shoulder-to-shoulder military training under the scorching sun; from the responsibilities and pull brought by the status of class committee, to the side-by-side competition in exams. The noisy classroom, the back-and-forth test papers, the companions who accompany me day and night, and the tiny thoughts hidden in the eyes that stop at a certain level. We got closer together day and night, and moved forward separately under academic pressure. During this period of junior high school that began in late summer, there was sweat and laughter, understanding and misunderstanding, the warmth of being side by side, and a touch of regret that we would eventually go to a different place. The wind has passed through the three-year campus, and the youthful thoughts hidden in the camphor and evening breeze have finally become the gentlest prologue of youth.
