General History of the Byzantine Empire
About This Novel
This book is one of the "World History and Culture Series". The Byzantine Empire was once the largest political, economic, cultural and religious center in medieval Europe and the Mediterranean world, and played a vital role in the history of medieval Europe. The Byzantine Empire had an important impact on the politics, military, economy, culture, and religion of various nations in Europe and Asia during the Middle Ages. The Byzantine civilization, in particular, has a long and splendid history. It not only served as a bridge between the classical Greek and Roman eras and the Italian Renaissance, but more importantly, promoted the formation and development of modern Western civilization, and its influence continues to this day.

The two major civilizational empires of the Middle Ages
The Byzantine Empire and the Chinese Empire were both civilized empires in the Middle Ages. They had many common advantages: respect for classical culture, a relatively highly developed and systematic civilization at the same time, and a legal and administrative system resulting from a high degree of centralization. They also had many common shortcomings: they were often unable to extricate themselves from the ancient outlines, and they must follow the sayings of the ancients, lack of boldness in democratic science, lack of imagination for the future world, the expansion of the town due to border troubles, and the struggle for power in central institutions... Fortunately, the people-oriented thinking, inclusive spirit, and unyielding will contained in Chinese civilization have ultimately allowed it to continue to this day, while the Western Mediterranean world is far from being so lucky. From the bottom of my heart, I deeply regret the fragmentation of Europe and the Middle East. To this day, people there are still experiencing war and hatred, and civilization has long become an ancient thing...
Read history and understand the past and present
I feel that dynasty changes in the West are basically related to religion.
