This book is connected in time with "The Legend of the Knights of the Tang Dynasty" and tells the story of the relationship and Jianghu between Duan Kexie and Shi Ruomei. Duan Guizhang, a knight-errant of the Tang Dynasty, and Shi Yiru, a scholar of the Tang Dynasty, had an irreversible friendship. They got married at the fingertips of the couple and used dragon and phoenix treasure hairpins as proof. Unexpectedly, Shi Yiru died at the hands of An Lushan, Duan Guizhang also died for his country in the dangerous city of Suiyang during the Anshi Rebellion, and Duan Guizhang's wife Dou Xianniang also died of illness not long after. Duan Kexie was adopted by Xia Lingshuang, the widow of the hero Nan Jiyun, while Shi Ruomei, the historical daughter-in-law, was adopted by Xue Song, the general of Anlu Mountain, and was renamed Xue Hongxian. Later, Xue Song surrendered to the Tang Dynasty and became an official in Luzhou. Xue Hongxian also became an official lady and did not know her life experience.
