About This Novel
The novel "Reclamation" is a key work support project of the Chinese Writers Association in 2024, a key publication of the Central Propaganda Department in 2024, and a project funded by the National Publishing Fund in 2025. By writing about the experiences and knowledge of several generations of people who reclaimed the land in Populus euphratica, the novel tells the story of a series of deeds by the Xinjiang Corps members who shouldered the sacred mission of establishing land reclamation and guarding the border and reclaimed and constructed Populus euphratica in the Xinjiang border. It reproduces the grand history of production and construction in Xinjiang for more than seventy years and the life struggle history of the Xinjiang Corps people. Many clues in the novel go hand in hand. A large group composed of soldiers who have fought in the war, passionate young people who support the frontier, farmers who have escaped from famine, and intellectuals who support the frontier, under the guidance of the same flag, assume the sacred mission of reclaiming wasteland. The flower of life blooms in their flesh and blood. From a desert to crisscrossed roads, clusters of high-rise buildings, and bright lights, this is proof of Xinjiang's continuous progress and prosperity. It is also the epitome of the Chinese people's hard work and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
