Lin Yue is a sprinter on the university track and field team. Before training every day, he has to squat down and tie the shoelace of his left foot that always comes loose. Through countless alternating perspectives of the victim and the murderer, Lin Yue gradually discovered the layers of sediment patterns on the walls of the back alley, the countless thin lines between the growth rings of the sycamore trees, and the annotation left by an unknown person on the library's geology report - "It must have rained for thousands of years." He found Zhao Jiangang's notebook, which contained a line: The rain in the alley will not stop. When both Lin Yues were absent from the murder at the same time, the cycle seemed to be broken. But the next morning, the toothbrush was wet-he hadn't brushed his teeth the night before. The date is still Wednesday. Deep in the back alley, that hand was always hanging in the shadow, waiting for the next time he bent down and tied his shoelaces.
