About This Novel

People in the world think that becoming an immortal means ascension, immortality, and a free world. But it is recorded in the truly ancient Taoist Secret Records: The upper-level immortals ascended into the void, the middle-level immortals hid themselves in famous mountains, and the lower-level immortals died first and shed their bodies. The so-called "dismemberment" does not mean simply pretending to die, nor does it mean that the soul ascends to heaven after the body decomposes, but the "shell" that a person carries layer by layer in the human world. The human shell has seven layers: Name, household registration, kinship, debt, desire, memory, body. Ordinary immortal cultivators practice spiritual energy, while zombie cultivators practice "removing one's name". When a person's name disappears from the world, debts are paid off, grievances are settled, and obsessions are let go, the physical body will become the last "empty shell". But the problem is: In this day and age, no one can truly disappear. ID cards, household registrations, loans, hospital records, surveillance, online accounts, family relationships, credit information systems, old photos, chat records... Everything proves: you still belong to the world. Therefore, corpse corpse immortals are almost extinct in modern society. Until the protagonist discovers that someone is using the "modern identity system" to create a new autopsy technique. They no longer practice spirituality. They repair the "corpse of data".
