As someone who has not experienced the post-World War I youth trend, I really don't have a deep understanding of this work. I only saw a slutty woman with poor self-control being pursued by other slutty men. Marriage and loyalty are nothing in the eyes of these people. The depressed dog-licking Jack, the upright and unruly Bill, and the bold, brave and gentlemanly matador are the rare normal people in the work.
