About This Novel

A Cuban old man, Santiago, was ridiculed for not catching any fish for 84 consecutive days at sea. On the 85th day at sea, he finally caught a large marlin unexpectedly. The old man finally killed it after dealing with it for two days. But on the way back, the bloody trails left by the big fish on the sea attracted countless sharks. The old man fought desperately with the shark, and when he finally returned to port, only a skeleton of the marlin was left.
