Underground River

About This Novel
This is a long novel describing the fate of four generations of the Hakka family. The dark river is a metaphor for life. It symbolizes a hidden river of family affection and kinship, which runs through the life course of several generations and becomes the spiritual symbol of a family. The novel takes time as the axis, telling their life, old age, illness and death in the mountains of southern Jiangxi, and their emotional story with this land. The novel uses some fragmented shots to stitch together a long narrative of Hakka women. The story of grandmother, mother, aunt and "me", from a female perspective, is humble and trivial, but penetrates the years, and has a unique broad and desolate quality. In this novel, you can see the truth, goodness and beauty of human nature. In addition, the history of Hakka migration and the living conditions of the Hakka people are also slightly touched upon.
