The four-eyed dog in the Hong family compound, like its owner, always wakes up the people in the Hong family's nest every morning. The Hong family's dog was given to Hong Huaide by Cao Dayanzi from Jiangbei last year. Hong Huaide likes dogs, but Hong Huaide doesn't like dogs that bite people. Hong Huaide raised one dog after another. If it bit someone, Hong Huaide would hand the dog over to Hong Rakezi in the back yard. Hong Rakezi would hang the dog on the pillar of the gate. Within a few bags of cigarettes, everyone in the house could smell the scent of dog meat wafting out of Hong Rakezi's yard. The four-eyed dog practices talking skills. Every morning to evening, when it hears the wind and grass, it howls hard.
