About This Novel
It's always night in downtown. People in brightly-colored clothes flooded into the streets, like fish swimming under the narrow night sky, with colorful and strange shapes, moving and spitting bubbles. As usual, I sat in Maoyu Restaurant in a daze. My name is Jin Lu, I am twenty-two years old, unemployed and homeless. There are only nights in Xiacheng District, at least for me, I sleep from morning to night and only eat one meal every day. "Maoyu" is a cheap Japanese food store. There is a giant pink lucky cat at the door, and the entire wall is covered with a circling golden dragon. I could only afford the cheapest sukiyaki noodles, and the lady boss gave me a bowl of miso soup. If she was in a good mood, there would be an egg in the soup. "Jin Sang, what are you thinking about when you look out the window?" I looked away.
