Countdown to Statute of Limitations
About This Novel
How terrible is the detective's intuition? You can spot something fishy at just one glance! The supreme masterpiece of Hideo Yokoyama, the dean of Japanese criminal investigation novels! The F Prefecture Police Headquarters has three famous "ghost detectives" - Kuchiki, the "blue-faced Shura" who is good at logical deductions, Kusumi, the "cold-blooded animal" who is good at strategy, and Murase, the "detective genius" who has a beast-like sixth sense. They regard the case as their fate and will never let go of any cunning murderer. When the confessed murderer suddenly recanted his confession and produced an alibi, Kuchiki keenly smelled the real motive of the move... When the suspect was on the run for 15 years and was about to be acquitted due to the expiration of the statute of limitations, Kusuomi noticed something strange from a report many years ago... ... When the police were guarding the entrance and exit of the apartment all night, but the suspect disappeared, Murase got a glimpse of the root of the matter through invisible loopholes... Robbery and murder cases in armored vehicles, corpse dumping cases, massacres, poisoning cases... 6 Short stories set off 9 desperate pursuits! In the face of the experienced and intuitive "Ghost Detective", all disguises will be revealed!

The suspense is average, the plot is average, and the complex description of human nature is a bit more. But I admire the criminal policeman who hates evil and does whatever it takes to solve the case.
Very average
The plot, criminal methods and reasoning process are nothing new and there is not much writing. If the focus of the writing is to create those characters, they have no charm. They are a bit middle-of-the-road, like watching a cartoon.
