About This Novel

Maverick police detective Harry Boss received a case. A man died in the suburbs. The police initially concluded that it was caused by an overdose of heroin. Bosch recognized the deceased as Billy Meadows, his comrade who had fought side by side with him on the Vietnam battlefield. At that time, they were responsible for checking for dangers in the tunnels and were known as "Gophers." Meadows died in a strange manner. His half-undressed clothes were stuck to his head, and there were obvious signs of being injected with drugs. Bosch felt that the cause of his death was not simple. At this time, a capable and charming female FBI agent also joined the investigation and worked with Boss to handle the case, but this seemed to make the situation more complicated. After experiencing a series of bank robberies, witness killings, insider battles, money laundering and silence, Bosch discovered that there was a bigger conspiracy behind it all. He had to make difficult choices between justice and emotion, and face the outcome he least wanted to see...

It can only be said that what Harry discovered during the investigation is that this case seems not simple. It is a matter in which he and his friends are involved. I can only say that it is still a bit scary.

It can only be said that because of a death case of a friend, many new characters appeared on the way to find the murderer, and then many truths were found, and things that he could not believe before, or were looking for.
