
About This Novel
At noon, after the crackling of firecrackers and fireworks, the old lady was invited out, and her children and grandchildren came forward to pay her birthday amidst the band's music and singing. Afterwards, the guests took their seats. Everyone was busy looking for seats and inviting familiar people to sit with them. After giving in, everyone was busy using their chopsticks. In the courtyard, people were talking, laughing, eating, drinking, fist-clinking and glasses mixed with the sound of the band. The commotion continued like this until around four o'clock in the afternoon, when the last group of relatives and friends of the Zhao family finished eating and left. After clearing away the dishes, the two Zhao brothers and the people from the village who came to help took down the tarpaulin that had been placed over the yard to protect against sun and rain, folded it, and placed it with tables, chairs, porcelain, aluminum pots and boilers in a mess on the small wheel where Liu Wangcai rented out supplies for weddings and weddings. After sending away the helpers, the eldest brother Zhao Jiahe went to calculate the rental fee with Liu Wangcai.
