About This Novel
At the age of five, he was lost in India. After twenty-five years, I finally found my way home in Australia. Five-year-old Saroo went out with his brother Gudu and stumbled into a train and was taken to Calcutta. He couldn't tell his name or where he came from. After weeks of wandering on the streets of Kolkata, he was taken to an orphanage and eventually adopted by an Australian couple. Although Saroo is very happy in his new family, he has never forgotten that he came from India in the past twenty-five years. He never dares to forget the road home and the scenery of his hometown in his memory. The Indian students he met in college directly aroused his longing for his hometown and family. So he began his journey to find home.
