About This Novel

The owner of Wuthering Heights, the squire Mr. Earnshaw, brought back an unidentified child named Heathcliff. He took away the owner's favor from the young master Hendry and his sister Catherine. After the death of his master, Hendry demoted Heathcliff to a slave in revenge and persecuted him in every possible way. His childhood sweetheart Catherine later fell in love with Edgar of Thrushcross Grange. Heathcliff ran away angrily, and when he returned three years later, he found that Catherine had married Edgar. His deep love turned into deep hatred, and he was determined to take revenge. However, he never tasted the joy of victory in revenge, and eventually died in love without eating or drinking.
