About This Novel

The beauty that people value all originates from pain. They were born between sorrow and ashes. --Cormac McCarthy, "The Road." "I call your name, you are mine." - Exodus. Zhou Mu saw the man again. The man appeared on the rooftop opposite. She looked puzzled. She lit a cigarette and took a deep breath. The white smoke lingered like silk. She slowly admired the man on the rooftop opposite. A few days ago, she had just taken a shower and came out of the bathroom naked. The sun fell on her skin, shining like porcelain. She looked along the light and suddenly saw a man standing on the roof opposite. She panicked and quickly took off her bathrobe and put it on her body. I thought I had been peeked at, and there was still a little anger hidden in my heart. But the man didn't even look over.
